Trendy Plus Size Winter Coats

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Janice_Walder]Janice Walder

When it comes to plus size clothing, we are always looking for the best trendy plus size coats, especially for winter. Winter is one of the most opportunistic times we have to express ourselves and our sense of fashion. People think just because they wear this type of clothing that they lack the ability to express their more fashionable side, and this is completely bogus! You will be surprised to hear that this type of clothing is indeed some of the most fashionable types of clothing available. If there is a particular size, color, pattern or design you are looking for, just because it is plus size does not mean that it does not exist. Using the Internet to locate your perfect wardrobe has now become easier then ever before.

Plus size winter coats are a hot commodity these days, and there are many different stores and vendors that sell them. Depending on the type of coat you pick, such as hooded, layered or even extra heavy, you can always accessorize these coats with additional pieces such as scarfs, boots, hats and even pants and other shirts (because after all, that coat does have to come off eventually!). You should never feel limited when searching for the perfect trendy plus size coats because the sky is really the limit. The best thing to do in these circumstances is to actively engage and seek out the exact plus size winter coats you are looking for. I always begin my searches with the assumption that someone, somewhere has to actively be making the coat or piece of clothing I am looking for, and I will only stop my search for it if I can be thoroughly convinced that it does not exist. I will search online and in department stores for weeks if that particular item means a lot for me to have, although it does not typically take that long for me to locate what I am looking for anymore.

Winter coats are ultimately one of the biggest pieces of stylish clothing that you can add to your wardrobe and you should have fun while shopping for one. If that coat makes you feel fun and happy to wear then you have found your right match. Remember to always start with a general, or even precise, idea of what you want and then relentlessly search it out until you find it. Even if you do not find an exact match, I am willing to bet you will find something similar to what your original intention was.

Best Coats For Plus Size Women

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Shira_Johnson]Shira Johnson

If you're a plus size woman you might have a hard time finding coats that fit. Most coats are designed for average size women. You'll also discover that the best coats will cost more than any other piece of clothing that you own. Therefore, it's very important that you take enough time to find a coat with the best look. You also want to make sure you new coat is comfortable. Most people don't put a lot of thought into their coat but if you think about it, more people will probably see you with your coat on. So no matter how much thought you put into your outfit, it doesn't really matter because the only thing people are going to see is your coat.

The type of coat you need really depends on what you need the coat for. Are you going to a party or spending a night on the town? Do you need a coat for running errands or going to the grocery store? Chances are you're going to need two completely different coats for these occasions. You probably don't want to go out on a date in the same coat you wear to work everyday. A good coat will last you for many years so you also want to choose a classic style that won't go out of fashion too soon.

Plus size women usually don't look good in funnel neck coats so try to avoid those if possible. Funnel coats have large collars that either sit flat or straight up when unzipped. Funnel neck coats have a tendency to make your neck look shorter and will accentuate a double-chin. When unzipped it will also create more bulk and padding in the chest area. Another type of coat to avoid if you're a plus size woman is the trench coat. The long row of buttons makes your torso look bigger and turns the rest of your body into a shapeless blob.

The best coats for plus size women are those that create a tight waistline and an open chest. Look for coats that make your neck look longer and slim your torso. Frock coats are popular because they make the waist seem narrow even when unbuttoned or untied. However, it's usually best to avoid plus size coats with belts, as they can make your stomach look even larger.

Remember, you want to put a little thought and consideration into the purchase of your plus size coat. You don't wait your coat or jacket to look like an after thought. As long as you look for a coat that accentuates all your best features you should be fine. Plus Size Coats - The Good and Bad Fitting

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tiffany_Hart]Tiffany Hart

Clothes are designed in such ways that they can look good in one situation and poor in another. This is particularly true when it comes to buying plus size coats.

Coats serve a number of different purposes. Given the horrific cold snap blanketing the country, many people could not care less what a coat looks like so long as it keeps them warm. In conditions where the temperature is well below zero, this certainly makes sense.

Ah, but what if things are warmer and you want to incorporate a particular fashion sense into your coat? Well, there are many different options you can choose from. That being said, the same coat will look good on one person and poor on another. This is particularly true if you are a plus size woman....

The key to building a wardrobe as a plus size woman is to accept who you are and buy the right size of clothing whether it be a coat or some other piece of clothing. Trying to squeeze into a smaller size is both uncomfortable and unflattering to your body. Instead of going small, try to focus on the cut of clothing when creating a good look. This is particularly true with coats.

Many plus size women have derriere sizes they don't like. To hide them, women often will use the old sweater tied around the waist trick or buy a longer coat that hangs over and down past the derriere. As to the coat, this approach is the wrong way to go. Instead of hiding your rear end, it emphasizes the fact you have a bigger derriere because the coat will flare out in the back and around your hips.

A better way to go with coats for plus size derrieres is to buy a cut that ends at the waistline. This will draw the eyes up to the waistline. Since the eyes are focusing upwards on the body, the derriere and hips are de-emphasized and you get the look you are after.

This brings us to an overall tip for plus size women when it comes to fashion. If you do not like a particular part of your body, trying to hide it is often a poor strategy. Using the cut of clothes to draw the eyes to stronger parts of your body is a better approach.

When shopping, take the time to notice how certain cuts look better than others. You'll quickly pick up on particular styles that work with your body type and be able to build a wardrobe of coats and clothes in which you look outstanding!

Women's Plus Size Coats Can Be Trendy

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Diane_Palmer]Diane Palmer

Picture this.. you have the perfect outfit, the perfect shoes, the perfect makeup for that office party, then you put on your big old raggy coat, and now you look like a bag lady! The winter coat or outerwear, tends to be the last thing people buy, or the quickest, especially for a plus size girl.

As soon as the cold weather hits, you go in and grab the cheapest thing on sale, because you really just run from your car to the house or office right?

But there is no need to spend hundreds to look and feel good in your outerwear, especially for a plus size girl. All the latest in tiny sized coats will be displayed at the front of the store, and when you mention you need a size 22 or larger, next thing you know you are directed to the back of the store where there are two styles available, big and baggy, and bigger and baggier!

But this year is different. With 6 out of 10 North American women in the plus size category, the designers have started to pay more attention to style and fashion as well as warmth.

So, all you plus size ladies, you do not have to resort to those baggy styles anymore, and instead of showing up at a party and quickly whipping off your coat before you even get to the door because you are embarrassed, now you can walk in feeling chic and confident.

Just make sure you get a size bigger with outerwear, as many designers forget you may be wearing bulky styles underneath, like that great thick favorite sweater for example. Ignore the size tag, get one that fits with enough room to move around in with no bunching, get a good deal, and it should last you for a few seasons.

Have fun at those winter parties this year, and walk in in style, and take your time taking off your coat! http://www.amplesizefashions.com/plussizeouterwear.html - click here for some trendy plus size styles, and feel and look good this winter. Article and website by Diane Palmer

One company that has made a commitment to designing professional coats for plus size woman is Catherines. Catherines Plus Size Clothing specializes in designing and manufacturing clothes for the full figured woman and features a large line of products in hard to find sizes including coats and jackets. Plus Size Coats For Women

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Shira_Johnson]Shira Johnson

It seems like the coat is always the last thing a woman thinks about when putting an outfit together for a night out on the town. You probably spend all your time and effort picking out the perfect dress and accessories but the coat is left for the last minute. As a result you end up putting on something that spoils the whole outfit and makes you look like you didn't put any thought into the whole ensemble. This is definitely not the best way to make a first impression or look your best.

You'll have a harder time finding a nice looking plus size coat that looks hip and professional if you live in really cold climate but it's not impossible. There are several trendy brands to choose from if you take the time to search online. The best way to avoid embarrassment is to take your time finding the best looking coat and not procrastinate. If you wait to to the last minute to find the perfect coat for your outfit it might not arrive in time if it needs to be shipped. You're also taking your chances if you hope to find a good looking plus size jacket in stock at a local store. Odds are you won't find what you need because most stores don't stock a lot of plus sizes.

It seems like every time I need to rush to buy an article of clothing I'm not happy with the final purchase. I always regret not planning ahead. When you take a few extra moments to pick and choose from the many different styles of plus size coats available you'll more than likely be happy with your purchase for a long time.

If possible, try to pick out a neutral coat that you can wear on more than one occasion. You don't want to invest a lot of money into a coat that you're only going to wear one time. However, you also don't want to purchase a coat that totally distracts from your outfit. For example, don't wear a short coat with a full length dress! Even if you're only going to be wearing the coat for a short period of time it still needs to look good. You want to make sure it looks like you put some effort into it and not something you just threw on at the last minute.

While it can often be difficult to find plus size coats that are suitable for a special night out on the town it definitely pays to plan ahead. With a little effort you can find a formal coat or jacket that looks good, fits right, and doesn't cost a lot of money. How to Find the Best Plus Size Coats

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Janice_Walder]Janice Walder

Plus size coats can be hard to find, especially in larger department stores that are not specifically geared to carry plus size clothing. The typical store you or I would walk into usually is "specialized" and only carries specific items related to its brand; for example, Victoria's Secret only carries lingerie and other clothes that relates to its own brand and product scheme. In order to find a good plus size coat, you can take a chance visiting a generalized department store or you can begin to identify stores that specialize in that particular area.

Over the last few years, one of the best ways to find, shop and buy clothes has been through the Internet, however, when it comes to purchasing clothing many people tend not to prefer to buy online because you lose the ability to try out the clothing and decide if it is right for you. The simple things such as feeling the quality, texture and overall fit of the coat is an important thing. Fortunately enough many of the online vendors for such clothing have excellent return policies and can really make shopping for a coat, or any kind of clothing in general, a positive experience.

Another easy way to find the right plus size coat is to use the Internet to find various stores that carry and sell such items. One of the other great things about shopping from home is that if you find the right store online, you can end up paying significantly less for your coat then if you were to shop in a traditional store. While searching for your coat from home, you also have the ability to look up product reviews at your fingertips and even find a recommendation towards a particular coat or even a whole company that you never knew otherwise existed.

When it comes to shopping for plus sized merchandise, utilizing product reviews and reading about what other people have experienced is an invaluable way to determine if what you are about to buy is worth it or not. The other greatest thing about searching for your coat from home is that you can find any color, pattern or material you can possibly think of as you are not limited to what is out on display on the floor of the store. It is also a wonderful thing to be creative and think of what you believe will look best on you, because chances are if you thought about it, somebody has already designed it somewhere! One should never discount the Internet when it comes to finding exactly what you want. It might take some time to find exactly what you are looking for but in the end it is better then having to force yourself to pick something on display in whatever store you are in, or even worse, have to travel from store to store and back in order to find and decide which coat you like the best.

Old Navy Plus Size Coats

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Shira_Johnson]Shira Johnson

A lot of women don't realize that many clothing companies offer discounts and selections on their websites on plus size coats that they don't offer in stores. One such example is Old Navy. They currently have a large selection of trendy plus size jackets available for sale that you won't find today if you go and visit them in person. These include many different types of outerwear including blazers, denim jackets, trench coats, pea coats, and vests. Sizes are available from 16-30 and can only be found online.

Old Navy plus size coats and jackets range in price from around $22 for a slimming blazer to $49 for a full-length wool blend coat. One of my favorite coats currently available for sale on their website is the Woman's Plus Belted Trench Coat available in Black or Coral Pink. This coat features a tie-belt to make your waist appear slimmer and is crafted from a smooth twill material. The look of the trench is both classic and trendy both at the same time and can be worn for any season during the year. The coat hangs down to just above the knee and the notched lapel both accentuates and elongates the neckline. The front of the coat includes six buttons and features darted seams at the bust to highlight your attractive curves.

Another popular plus size coat they feature on their website is the Mandarin Collar Wool Blend Coat available in Heather Gray or Red. This coat has clean lines and features a dropped waist and mandarin collar to create a sophisticated and professional look. If you work in the business world this would be a great coat for you in the winter time. Or even if you want to make a good impression when you go to class or run errands this coat will boost your confidence and help you get through your busy day. This wool coat hangs just below the hips, is fully lined, and will definitely keep you warm during cold weather. To complete the look you can accessorize your coat with a great-looking pair of high heel boots and boot-cut jeans.

You certainly don't have to limit yourself to the selection of plus size coats you find in your local area. If you shop for coats and jackets online you'll find that there is a large selection to choose from. Plus Size Fashion in the Colder Months - Choosing the Right Plus Size Coat For Your Body Type

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Stephenie_L.]Stephenie L.

You are a fashionable and stylish plus size gal. But as it starts to get cooler, you start to shiver, and not just with the cold! It is only recently that manufacturers and designers have started to realize that not everyone wears a size 6 or 8 or even a 10. In fact, 60% of North American women wear a size 14 or above. Great news for those of you belonging to the majority of 6 from 10 women!

Up until now, shopping for plus size coats has been a depressing experience, to say the least. Sloppy, boxy cut coats that were more reminiscent of tents than fashionable outerwear were the rule. Designers have started to come around to the fact that 60% of their clients are plus sized and have started designing trendy plus size fashion for us. This reflects not only in the choices available but also in the price for trendy pieces. Whereas plus size clothing was either lower quality or much more expensive (or both!) than regular sizes, today we have a plethora of styles and fits to choose from.

Plus size coats shopping should be a priority on your clothing list. For many of us, we will be wearing our coats for 5 months straight. No matter how great your outfit is, how well put together you are, if you are throwing an old shabby coat over your outfit all anyone will see is...a shabby coat!

Buying a plus size coat or jacket is like shopping for any other article of clothing. Knowing your body type will help you decide on the best style and fit for you. Here are my 2009 fall/winter favorites for the typical 5 body types:

Pear body types, which are those girls who have a larger bottom half and a small upper half, should be looking for coats and jackets with lots of upper styling. Pockets, Epaulettes, and Glitter-the new military look was made for you. Also, shawl necked coats or coats with big collars help balance out your shape.

Apple body types, have thick waists and generally slender legs. You should be looking for coats and jackets that disguise your belly. Capes, being the major look of the season, are a fantastic option for you but stay away from capelets, which will make you look more pronouncedly apple.

Inverted Triangle body types, meaning those girls whose shoulders are much wider than their hips and waist should draw attention from their shoulders area by putting an emphasis on their great hips and legs. Woolen coats with a wider skirt will give you massive curve appeal, as will anything with a flared hem. Capes can leave you looking somewhat bulky by hiding your best assets and hanging off the widest part of your body.

Straight body types, the ones with hips, waist and hips all of a similar size should concentrate on adding curves while keeping their balanced proportions. Stay away from large collared or belted coats. Look for draped, loosely falling materials. A capelet could look better on you than a cape, especially if it hits about hip bone level, adding a little width to your hips.

Hourglass body types can basically wear what they choose. Remember to keep your curves in proportion by not over-emphasizing any one part of your body. If you have lots of detailing on the top, make sure there is detailing around the hip area as well (big pockets, or similar detailing to the top). Anything belted will generally look great on you, but stay away from short, blousey jackets that tend to make you look top-heavy.

Missphit Plus Size Coats

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Shira_Johnson]Shira Johnson

Missphit is a design company based in Los Angeles that creates clothing especially made to fit the curvy lady. Plus size clothing is all they do. Because the average American woman wears a size 14 they decided to focus all their efforts on creating a trendy clothing line designed especially to flatter all curvy body types. Their clothes have been featured in many magazines and television shows including MTV and American Idol.

Missphit offers a large line of plus size clothing including fun and attractive dresses, shirts, coats, and jackets. Another nice thing about this company is that all their apparel costs $100 or less for each item. This makes their line of clothing very affordable even if you're on a fixed budget. A lot of plus size women often find themselves buying clothes they might not otherwise wear just because it's the only thing they find that fits and is also low cost. Missphit solves this problem by designing attractive plus size clothing that not only fits perfectly and looks great but also doesn't break the bank.

They have many plus size coats to choose from including hip jackets, pea coats, trench coats, knit coats, and strap jackets. Each coat features one design detail that makes it stand out. These include large buttons, cropped sleeves, and fitted waistlines. Instead of your standard and boring coats that often try to hide your plus size figure, Missphit coats instead take your best curved features and show them off.

You might think that since Missphit coats are low in price they must also be low in quality. However, many reviews state that this is not the case. The coats are mostly lightweight and don't require a heavy lining or trim. Of course, you probably don't want to wear any of these coats on a ski-trip or in sub-below weather but that's not what they were designed for. If you need to look good during a night on the town or make a positive impression during a business meeting they are definitely up to the task.

One of my favorite Missphit plus size coats is the Crimson Red wool pea coat. This coat hangs down past your ankles and features a big round collar, large buttons and a form enhancing waistline. The sleeves are also long and slightly flared to create a slimming effect. The soft wool doesn't make you itch and at a price of only $76 you can't go wrong with this one.

You don't have to settle for the boring, drab, and expensive plus size coats you find at local department stores. There are plenty of other options that you probably don't even know about. You just have to know where to look. Visit [http://www.plussizecoatsandjackets.com/]Plus Size Coats and Jackets today for more information on where to find [http://www.plussizecoatsandjackets.com/]trendy plus size coats for sale online.

Women's Plus Size Coats Can Be Glamorous

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kenneth_Elliott]Kenneth Elliott

Have you even seen this scenario at your office party? You are plus size women and you are mingling throughout the party and you spot another plus size woman with the most stunning outfit you have ever seen in the party. The shoes are just right, the dress sparkles and the jewelry sets it all off. You envy this person for the rest of the party until, she pulls out a raggedy Coat from the coat checker. The entire outfit is ruined and you want nothing more to do with the outfit that you thought you would go out and buy the next day. Have you ever seen this? Are you surprised? This scenario happens more than you think. Most women don't pay attention to the coat when picking out a outfit. In most cases women just wear whatever is in the closet, thinking that it is just a coat that will not be seen.

But the truth is a plus size coat is just a important as the entire outfit. It should have just as much attention as the shoes that you brought or the dress or the blouse. In other words a plus size coat can make or break an outfit. Having the wrong coat can detract from the outfit and pull attention away from what you worked so hard to put together. The messy plus size coat can attract negative energy that can in effect draw negative people to you. Would you want this kind of company? I know I would not want that kind of company.

So how should you look at a plus size coat? Well, of course the coat needs to match the outfit. The color scheme needs not clash with the underline color scheme of your outfit. For example would you wear a pin striped suit and a pokadot coat or vice versa. That is definitely a clash that would not go over very well.

Next you want to wear the appropriate length coat. For example you may want to wear a full length plus size coat with any suit, especially if you trying to look professional. If you´re wearing a dress and your trying to show off a little leg then you may want to consider a 3/4 length coat. Jeans are a different story. A good combination for jeans would be something like a plus size pea coat. The materials of pea coats are perfect for jeans.

I want to leave you with this. As I said before, plus size coats are just a important as the entire outfit. Forgetting to plan can be just a devastating as not putting together a great looking ensemble.

Where We Can Find the Best Plus-Size Coats?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Francis_Duran]Francis Duran

For many years, women encountered obstacles when shopping for clothing, specifically the best plus-size coats. Traditional stores did not cater to those consumers. Size, selection, styles and color were generally unavailable. Nevertheless, advance technologies or the Internet has changed this dilemma. As a result, women have many options on choosing plus-size coats. Specifically, they can shop at traditional stores or surf the Internet. Traditional stores have established web sites that allow women to leisurely shop through online catalogs without leaving the comforts of home.

Traditional stores such as the Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart have plus size coats in a collection of styles, sizes, and colors. Additionally, many selections are not limited to the standard "plus size look" of yourself. That is to say, the finest plus size coats are made to impression. Therefore, locating the best plus size clothing may possibly turn into a shoppers' delight. Depending on what is deemed the best, many shoppers will discover plus size trench coats covered in suede polyester and priced less than $100. Or at another site, come across stylish coats sized from 14W to 34W that are equally priced.

For example, good shoppers will find more than the best plus size clothing and the internet store is not limited to coats. Its extended wear section contains pants, miniskirts, outwear, jackets, blazers, dresses, suits and tops. Many sites offer equitable sales that are offered to average coat wearers. While discounts are offered at other web stores, the options may be overwhelming. Nonetheless, plus size shoppers have a choice or alternatives.

Consequently, large coat shoppers are faced with a new dilemma. The best plus size coats are no longer average size coat knock-offs that generally fail to flatter or accentuate. Instead, plus size coats are designed to create a tight waistline and open chest. They are slimming and lengthen rather than create an appearance of dumpiness. In other words, plus size women do not have to settle.

Then again, shopping and selection may possibly be confusing due to the huge range or selections, styles, prices, discounts and benefits. Never before has a plus size shopper faced this problem. Past experiences never, ever led them to the best. The internet has definitely opened up a great gateway to women that are a bit extraordinary yet beautiful in their own rights. Plus Size Coats - Top 3 Slimming Tips

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Betty_P._Cosmo]Betty P. Cosmo

The first item of consideration when buying plus sized coats is usually whether or not the coat is slimming. Most plus sized ladies want to look thinner. And coats in general tend to add bulk to your frame anyway. So it is very important for plus sized coats to minimize bulkiness. A heavy, fluffy plus size jacket will add extra pounds and should be avoided if your goal indeed is to look a bit thinner.

Another consideration when thinking about with plus size coats, related to the slimming issue, is color. Certain coat colors will add weight and some are more slimming. Therefore, larger ladies should pass on the white coat and instead select a dark color such as black, burgundy or navy.

Coat length is also important when considering different plus size outwear. Coats that are cropped-stop at the waistline or even slightly above the waist do not flatter larger physiques. The coat should stop at mid-thigh or below or else it will add some pounds. This is because if the figure is bisected it will appear shorter and squattier whereas a longer garment will elongate the body making it appear slimmer.

As heavier women tend to be big busted, coats that emphasize this can make also them seem top heavy. For example if the coat has lots of decoration or "bling", then it may call attention to the bust area. A simpler more elegant design is usually a better choice.

Lastly, comfort is of course important. So many plus sized women wear clothing that is too tight and flat out uncomfortable. A proper fit across the back can be determined by stretching the arms out in front to see if the coat pulls. Also, if the coat is too small the arm length will be too short. Now you have some easy, slimming tips that you can use when you're thinking about buying plus size coats.

Choosing the right outfit is always a tough task, especially for women, since fashion choices are like a difficult test embedded into our genetics. Choosing a dress can be easier, but in these cold days when you want to keep warm, a random dress just won't cut it - you need a coat. Plus size coats are always a good option when it comes to that, but deciding on which one to choose is really difficult and time consuming.

First thing you need to take into account, is that these coats are not really limited to bigger sized women. They make trendy additions to a wardrobe for a size two or four who simply wants to accessorize with something different during those cold evenings out.

Unlike the smaller sized women, who are just looking for something different to add to their wardrobes, there are bigger women who get to enjoy plus size clothing as part of their daily lives. It only makes sense, that choosing the right plus size jacket is of the essence as it can make or break an outfit. Getting the appropriate length for your plus size coat is also of utmost importance. Normally, a knee length coat, or even a bit longer, should be perfect for when you are in office wear. For casual days, you should go for the shorter ones, preferably thigh length. When possible, you should try to match your plus size coats with your inner wear. It gives a more flattering look than when you go for two colors that just won't blend in together. For a bold statement, you should try plus size leather coats with a waistline and an open chest. These are great in giving you a figure, whether you are on the bigger side or not. Keep in mind, that wearing plus size coats unzipped can actually make it seem as if you are bigger than you really are.
